Shortly after, he proceeded to Fayetteville State University, where he played for the college football team. He left in 2016, deciding to focus exclusively on making music.

Blueface became interested in rap music, listening mainly to 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and The Game. In September, he released his second E.P., Two Coccy.

Two years later, Blueface’s track, “Thotiana,” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 75. “Thotiana” was certified gold by the Recorded Music New Zealand (RMNZ) and platinum by the RIAA. His song “West Coast” was also certified gold by the RIAA.

Lessons Learnt from the Life of Blueface

Be Self-confident.

“I did not know what kind of sound I wanted to make. I didn’t have any influence. I heard my voice in the microphone and was like, damn, I love that.” ~Blueface

Blueface began rapping in 2017 under the name Blueface Bleedem. He was invited to Laudiano’s music studio by a friend to retrieve a phone charger and, in the process, was challenged to rap over a beat. This incident resulted in the release of his first song, “Deadlocs,” produced by Laudiano.

We all have beautiful talents deposited in us, and when we eventually discover them, we should be confident enough to show the world. More so, be willing to put in the work to ensure that these talents are harnessed and morphed into something mind-blowing that the world appreciates.

Consistency is the Key to Success.

“I don’t wanna go full mainstream and have my followers go, “What happened?” ~Blueface

We’ve seen the sudden rise of artists and their exit from the limelight after a while. It is not the case with Blueface. After releasing his first song, Deadlocs, Blueface released other songs that increased his popularity over time and contributed massively to his net worth. This shows his consistency with his craft.

Consistency is needed after taking the initial step in starting anything, regardless of whether it looks promising or not. It might not work out for us all that our first move at something comes out great, and even if it does, consistency is what keeps us going and gives the desired result.
